End of life care, at home

For some time now, in fact since sadly losing Millie a few years ago, James has offered a home-visit end of life care service for pets across the Northwest of England, as well as completing such requests further afield.  This service will continue to be offered.

All practices and their teams will always do their very best to make an end of life appointment as comfortable as possible, but there is no doubt that performing this very sensitive appointment in the comfort of the pet and owner’s own home, may well be more suitable in many cases. As such, should your Vet advise that end of life care is becoming a necessity for your pet, please contact our team on 01260 222 999 who can inform on our availability, costs and procedures.

For all of our own patients, home-visit end of life care will be available as a routine offering, though costs will be slightly higher than an in-practice appointment and will be arranged for outside of normal working hours here at Millie’s.

Our home visit end of life care service is led by James, who has recently completed the CAETA Peaceful Euthanasia certification, thus enhancing our commitment to provide your beloved pet with the best end of life care experience, whether that be at our practice or in your home.

Should you require our assistance in arranging the aftercare of your beloved pet’s body, we work very closely with Whitley Brook Pet & Equine Crematorium, and can arrange for an individual cremation with the ashes to be returned for you to keep.  Alternatively, the ashes may be retained by the crematorium after a routine cremation.
